What is Rehabilitation? Per Webster: 1a: to restore to a former capacity: reinstate, 1b: to restore to good repute by vindicating, 2a: to restore to a state of efficiency, good management, or solvency, 2b: to restore to a conditions of health or useful and constructive activity. What Defines Success? To the government, I can only think, any time a potential tax producer is out of a "program" and generating tax revenue, that individual is rehabilitated. Why do you think suicide is against the law? Is it because the Government doesn't want to see all the emotional pain in everybody's life caused by suicide? No. It's because you need to pay back the government for the resources that you consumed during your gestation and growing years. You just can't generate revenues for the government if you dead. Remember that the "big hearted" government set the social security benefit collection age at 65 years old. The average life expectancy at the time was only 56 years old. Figuring that very, very few people would be able to collect it because you would have already been dead 9 years. Notice that now that the "Average Age" is now much older than that, and they are extending the age limits up on a progressive scale to insure that you pay but you do not get to collect. What Defines Failure? To the Government: Any person having gone through a "program" that is not generating tax revenue or is paying below their expected tribute level has no been rehabilitated. Think not? Consider the following: What about tobacco? We are being told all the time how bad it is to smoke, and the profound deadliness of second hand smoke, so why is tobacco being sold? Look at the tax revenues that are generated, and if they are as deadly as advertised, you can bet that smokers will not be collecting Social Security. As well, every employer is required to test for "illegal" drugs as part of pre-employment qualifications. Who do you think mandates this test? The Government? No... It's the insurance companies. Why? So that the insurance companies can claim that it was your smoking that Marijuana three days ago caused you to become injured rather than that Poisonous Gas release that caused you to become unconscious and fall. The religious viewpoint may look more like seeing a person that is still a slave to something that is harmful to themselves and to the people in there lives. True rehabilitation has to be a changed life, heart and mind. If you do not believe that there is a better way, why change? The big question is, how do we determine what is better? With all this "multicultural" BS that I hear being rammed down our throats, there needs to be a standard that identifies virtues that are constant in nature, and beyond the whim of self gradification. |
