What Purpose are Drug Rehab Centers?

Stated Purpose:
To help People get off drugs.

Intended Purpose:
Keep people generating as much tax revenue as possible and to maintain some level of corralled chaos in the permitted use and distribution of illegal drugs.

Actual Use:
I have been through drug rehab and I can tell you it is more of a finishing school for dopers than to help people get off drugs.

What percentage of people in rehab are there because they "checked themselves" in? Mostly the ones involved within the religious programs. The others are there because some judge sentenced them to it (and of course the "state " must be compensated for such fine programs) or they got picked for a random test at work and decided to go to rehab instead of taking a chance in flunking the test.

What happens when people that otherwise would keep taking "drugs" end up in a rehab center? They exchange techniques and ideas on how to avoid getting caught. Like various ways to smugly in "clean" urine samples and how long does it take for the drugs to get out of the system. Where to get the drugs they are suppose to be getting help with. It reminds me of what I have heard cops say about the people in prison, "we are sending them to finishing school".

I think that if the government wanted to eliminate drugs from our society they could. I do not believe they do. You can bet that if a cop is required to shoot everybody in the head, on the spot, that was found in position of "drugs" not many people would carry "drugs". If all the chemical detecting sensors that are available were set to sound off at the slightest hint of some "drug" it would not take long to find them all.

Let's face it, when the congress of the US declared "WAR on Drugs" it declared war on the American People. By doing so, the government circumvented the constitution in a way that the American people were duped into agreeing with. Drug testing gives the government a tool to use as leverage against someone if they decide they need to.
